December 2011
Dear CCHS Family and Friend,
I am thankful for the opportunity to write to you at this joyous time of the year when we celebrate the gift of our Lord Jesus Christ. God continues to bless Calvary Christian High School and I wanted to share some of the blessings.
We rejoiced at the beginning of this school year with over 100 students in our freshman class, making this group the largest class in the school’s history. Enrollment increased in the other grade levels as well and the total enrollment reached 265 students. This is the largest student body in the school’s history. Early registration for the 2012-2013 school year clearly reveals the growth is continuing and we anticipate enrollment to reach 320 for next school year.
On August 26th, we celebrated the opening of “The Rock,” the school’s new sports complex for football, soccer, and track and field. The reality of God blessing the school with this outstanding facility is hard to believe at times, but then I am convicted for having doubts in the greatness of God and His blessings on this school. It is amazing to see how this facility is enabling us to impact students’ lives for the Kingdom of Christ. Already, there are numerous stories.
Calvary Christian High School is not resting on these blessings and becoming complacent. We believe God wants to achieve greater things in this community through CCHS. As such, I wanted to share some immediate needs and ask you to consider being a channel of blessing to the school as we approach the end of 2011 and you reflect on God’s blessing to you and your family.

We believe God has positioned the school to teach and train students in the area of audio/visual technology to a greater level. The technology resources on campus are some of the top equipment in the industry and there is a growing interest from our students to be taught and trained in this area. The school does not have the computer technology to train students to use the equipment to its full potential. We need to update our iMac lab with the latest software and purchase a MAC Laptop for use during chapel, during the daily announcement broadcasts, and in productions at The Rock. We need $25,000 for this area of improvement.

As I mentioned above, the school was the recipient of an amazing gift with the completion of the Sports Complex. We have discovered since that we have a need to properly store the equipment used by the different teams so it can be appropriately maintained and we get complete use of the equipment for its expected life-span. We desire to add a storage facility near the south entrance of the stadium. A $10,000 donation would enable us to purchase a storage facility that would house the outdoor equipment used for football, soccer, and track and field.

We are grateful for the growth and development in our Fine Arts Department. If you attended our Christmas Celebration on December 1st, you saw a glimpse of our vision for an outstanding fine arts program. Perhaps, the most notable improvement was in our band program. This is just a beginning of what we hope to see accomplished. We have a vision of seeing a Warrior Marching Band and we believe we can begin that program as early as next school year. It will take a significant amount of funds to get the band equipped with everything, but we believe an initial investment of $30,000 will enable us to begin developing a marching band. Last week, we announced try-outs for our Spring Musical. We are excited and anticipate another stellar performance by our drama students. We prepared a very limited budget for this production, but a gift of $5,000 would enable to utilize lighting and costuming for a production that elevates the acting opportunity for our students to another level.

It is our desire to offer a world-class education in a Christian environment at an affordable price. To reach more families in our community, we need partners who will assist families with tuition assistance. There are many families sacrificing to send their children to Calvary; however, there are many families who desire this opportunity for their children, but the tuition cost makes it prohibitive. CCHS has been blessed to have tuition assistance to assist families in need. As the school enrollment increases, the distribution percentage from this fund for the number of families needing assistance becomes less. As such, we pray for partners who see the value of investing in the lives of young people to give them the opportunity to receive a superior education grounded in a Biblical worldview. Think of the impact CCHS students can have on the next generation as they become our community, state, and national leaders. I get excited when I think about it and I want more students to have the privilege of attending Calvary Christian High School. You may not be able to help all of the families wanting to send their children to CCHS, but you may be able to make the difference for one student to attend our school with a contribution to our tuition assistance fund.
You are receiving this letter because you have a vested interest in Calvary Christian High School. As a result, I ask you to consider making an end-of-year gift to CCHS. Your continued partnership with the school will enable us to remain focused on our mission of Inspiring Excellence: Mind, Body, and Spirit. You may submit your tax deductible contribution to the address listed below, or you may donate online through our secure website at http://www.cchs.us/about-cchs/donate.cfm.
Again, thank you for investing in CCHS. Your partnership has been instrumental in our growth and vision for the future. Please continue to pray for the school, our faculty and staff, the students currently enrolled, and the students to enroll in the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
