College Exposure Trips

Purpose

The purpose of the College Exposure Trips is to allow students to explore the various types of institutions available in the world of higher education. Students may not ultimately attend a particular college we visit, but it will give them an idea of what each type of school offers and how that setting may provide a good “fit” for them.  We will visit public, private, and Christian colleges. We will also visit schools that range from highly selective to open enrollment institutions. The College Exposure trips are not meant to promote any particular institution. They are also not meant to replace the all-important official, individual campus visit that should be made in the junior and senior years with the student's family.

College destinations are determined by both student interest (given in Naviance) as well as Calvary College Placement mission.

Requirements

Students participating in the CCHS College Exposure trips must have maintained a minimum 3.0 cumulative, un-weighted GPA. They also cannot have had any significant disciplinary issues within the last two semesters. Students can be “uninvited” from trips they have registered for if they do not meet these requirements at the time of the trip.

Registration/Payments

Registration and payment deadlines are in place to allow us to give accurate and timely counts to the colleges and, in the case of the overnight trips, book the appropriate number of hotel rooms.  All payments are non-refundable. A signed permission slip is also needed to secure a reservation on a trip. All payments should be made online by selecting this link.
