Color Guard Program

Course Description

The Colorguard is a group of female students who perform while utilizing flags, equipment, dance choreography, and character work to add the visual component to the annual marching band and winter color guard shows. Color Guard students compete in various competitions, festivals, and home football games with our Warrior Band and also independently as the Warrior Winterguard. Additionally, the Colorguard performs at some on campus concerts with the other performing arts ensembles at the school.

Next Level

Students from our program have gone on to audition for college marching band and winterguard ensembles. Graduates have also auditioned and been awarded positions within Drum Corps International corps. As a college preparatory school the colorguard program at Calvary prepares students with the skills they will need to succeed at these high levels of performance. If a student desires to pursue either a college level ensemble, a Drum Corps International, or Winterguard International group after graduation our programs prepare them with the skills necessary to accomplish their goals.

Bio

Before joining the color guard instructional staff at CCHS, Mrs. Morgan served as the colorguard director at Indian Rocks Christian School. During her 12 years at IRCS, she helped lead and grow the program to consistent top five finishes at the FMBC State Championships. She also worked with Northside Christian School as a winter guard instructor in 2022-2023. Some of her accomplishments include: Gold in class Regional A, 2022 and Silver in class Cadet, 2023 at the FFCC State Championships. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business from St. Petersburg College. She also holds her CPC as a Medical Billing Analyst at Medishare. She enjoys coaching with Christian schools, allowing her to teach, mentor and share her faith with students.
