The mission of the CCHS College Counseling Department is to develop supportive relationships with students and parents in order to help them navigate the college search, application, and enrollment process. We do this by equipping families with age-appropriate college and career readiness tools and by providing counsel that focuses on the discovery of each student’s unique God-given abilities with the goal of finding their best-fit options for life after high school.
All advising personnel have significant professional experience and a personal commitment to Biblical truth that informs the development and implementation of the college counseling curriculum. We approach the college-going process from a “best fit” perspective that keeps the student’s academic, social, and spiritual needs as the priority.
Through college exposure opportunities, guided grade-level curriculum plans, parent education opportunities, and individual advising sessions, college counseling at CCHS is designed to partner with the family and equip the student to choose the college option that will best prepare him or her to be the person God has uniquely designed the student to be for the purpose He has for the student’s life.
CCHS is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors and the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals. As a member of these organizations, we are committed to the Statement of Principles of Good Practice which supports the ethical obligation to report serious behavioral matters to colleges during the application and admission process. For CCHS students this is defined as any disciplinary matters that require an out-of-school suspension or expulsion.
"College is a fit to be made, not a prize to be won."
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.”
